Green Consultants Projects
Current students - please see our student facing Green Consultants' facing webpage. The second part of the Green Consultants programme are group projects, that take place on campus.
Green Consultants Projects offer students the opportunity to put their learning into action, contributing to the University’s Climate Strategy and Nature Positive Strategy.
The group projects involve each student working for 30 hours in a group of four. This is usually hybrid working, with some sections on campus and others remote. Students are expect to manage the project, hold professional client meetings and develop a tangible final output.
Students must complete online learning and attend a Project Readiness workshop before they can apply for a project. They are encouraged to only apply for projects which hold a special interest for them.
We try to offer a new project every two weeks. If you have a topic or task which could make a good Green Consultants project get in touch with us at greenconsultants@exeter.ac.uk

“I am very excited to be starting my graduate job in August, and the company loved hearing about Green Consultants throughout the interview process. Thank you again for all of your support throughout the process. Green Consultants was an incredible experience for me and has been invaluable throughout my graduate job applications”
Lois Hurley, Business and Economics Graduate
"The project provided valuable insights that have helped shape the future direction of the ”Gift It, Reuse It” scheme. The analysis focused on the asset register created after over 8,000 items were donated by students at the end of the Summer Term 2024. This data was cleaned, refined, and visualised to highlight key trends, including the most commonly donated items and patterns in donation behaviour."
Meg Haslam, Sustainability Assistant
“There were some great outputs from these Green Consultants projects, including the recording of our biodiversity interventions (bird boxes, bat boxes, wood piles) using the QuickCapture app across three campuses, the compilation of ecological records from historical surveys on campus, and data cleaning of existing data to help us get it into a format which we can more easily use in the future.”
Dr Ros Shaw, Sustainability Manager (Biodiversity)
